Live-Action FPS Pump Paintball
There are many games out in the world today, the most common of which being the computer game genre. Among the genres of games that there are out there is one that like the usual sports video games that also stands out. That being the first person shooter or FPS genre. These games focus around people carrying weapons and battling an opponent. Most games have more than one choice of weapon. This genre like the sports genre, can also be found in real life. The name of the game is paintball.
War Rock, Counter Strike, and Left 4 Dead, are examples of FPS games that are played by many people in their homes, internet cafes, and sometimes even at work. These kinds of FPS are usually played by many people at the same time, these people being divided into teams. In real life, with paintball, there are real time games and competitions as well. But unlike its video game counterparts, with paintball, the player is limited to only three kinds of weapons, the pump paintball, semi-automatic, and the automatic guns. These three are the only choices, there are no bazookas that fling paint balloons or something like that.
Pump paintball is the real deal. It is FPS in the real world, the difference is that you are limited to one gun, and one gun only. The pump paintball gun. It’s a pump and shoot gun, the player will be forced to pump his gun, shoot, then hide, then pump, shoot, hide, its a cycle. One that will truly give a person a real feel at how a war game really feels like.
Pump paintball or any paintball game for that matter is a good way for people to exercise not only the body, and the mind, but the ability to work alongside fellow human beings. Most paintball games are between four or more people, it isn’t really all that much fun with only two people playing like the game was a Mexican standoff, its best played with more than two. The more the merrier as they always say. Sure people can play and act like two snipers out to destroy the other, but with more people the field is broadened to include all forms of tactical maneuvers and the like.
The rules of play are many and yet simple, a game between friends can even have made up rules. Its not like those FPS that already have rules, set rules that can not be changed or manipulated. In a pump paintball game or any other paintball game the rules are as human as the people playing by them.
If a paintball player wants to showcase their talents, or prove that they are just as good in the real world as in the virtual, paintball is the best way to go. But if a player really wants to show that he or she is the best or at least one of the best, then pick up a pump paintball gun, and go old school on a bunch of semis and autos.

Helping The Novice Choose A Fly Fishing Rod
Any serious hobbyist or professional fly fisherman knows that their rod is a tool, selected to meet whatever challenges their environment and catch may send. Yet, for the casual hobbyist hoping to take the craft of fishing more seriously, the qualities that transform a plain rod into an extraordinary one aren’t obvious. If you’re hoping to purchase a quality rod for fly fishing but aren’t sure where to begin, here are a few pointers to help.
You should know your fishing environment and your likely catch. You won’t fish in the same place all the time, but you probably have your favorite spot that you return to time after time. The more you fish the same location, the more familiar you become with the waters and type of fish you catch. This can help you determine the type of fly fishing rod to buy.
For instance, the size of your catch determines how heavy of a rod you should purchase. Lighter fish require a lighter rod, while larger fish of course require something heavier. Fly rods are not rated by pounds test, as is true with more traditional rods, but rather by the weight of their line, on a scale of 1 to 14. While a heavier line can help catch larger fish, it is also unwieldy and not suitable for beginners for whom 5 is often recommended.
Rod length is another thing to think about. The environment you are fishing in may determine the length of your rod. Most fly fishing rods are around eight or nine feet in length. This length may be too unwieldy for some to cast or transport. Children may be more successful with shorter rods too.
You will also need to choose the material your fly fishing rod will be made out of. Fly fishing tackle comes in many different forms. Traditional rods are made from bamboo. Newer rods are made from fiberglass or graphite. What you use is a personal choice. However, graphite rods are recommended and are popular among fly fishermen.
Over time, you will find that you develop your own fly fishing style. Once your know your style, you can select the type of rod that suits you best from among the fast action or slow action fly fishing rods. Each of these has their advantages and the difference lies in the way the rod bends. Fast action rods have the most bend towards the tip of the rod whereas slow action rods have a more evenly distributed bend over the entire length of the rod. Most fishermen do well with a fly fishing rod that has moderate action as this gives you more control over your cast.
Remember that your fly fishing skills will grow over time and your fly fishing tackle will grow with you. For that reason, it is not necessary to spend a lot of money when you are starting out. Once you have mastered one rod, you can move on to another. As your fishing style stabilizes or your preferences change, you will find yourself buying more fly fishing rods over the years.
Spending lots of money on an expensive rod locks you into that particular rig’s advantages and flaws. When you are first learning something new is your best opportunity to explore it, before habits form and are hard to break. Purchasing an expensive rod may have you feeling trapped and unwilling to branch out. There is much more involved in selecting a good rod, but with these pointers in mind, you can begin your exploration into the exciting world of fly fishing.
Here is an example of a good fly fishing rod. It is the St. Croix Avid Series 4-Piece Fly Rod. This rod versatile, with a new and improved smoother action and a crisp casting stroke with a measure of feel typically reserved for rods twice the price. This fly rod is prices at under $150.

MMA Flashback: Bobby Lashley Mauls Mike Cook At Maximum Fighting 21
Heres a word of advice to future opponents of Bobby Lashley”dont make fun of his background in professional wrestling. Mike Cook found that out the hard way in the co-main event of the Maximum Fighting Championships MFC 21: Hard Knocks event. After spending the run up to fight week making fun of Lashleys tenure in the WWE, Cook lasted a mere :24 seconds before being choked unconscious via a guillotine choke.
Perhaps Cook felt he was creating some sort of self doubt in the former WWE superstar by suggesting that he was out of his element in a real fight, but he turned it up a notch at the weigh in and in his ring entrance by donning a Mexican Lucha Libre mask. In prefight interviews, Cook had suggested that Lashley would soil himself once he entered the ring (though in not so erudite terms). That clearly incensed the massive 64 250 pound Lashley, who despite his inexperience in MMA is hardly the sort of individual prone to losing bowel control at the prospect of a fight.
Even after the opening bell rang, Cooks arrogant approach to the fight continued as he immediately clinched with his opponent as if he had no regard whatsoever for Lashleys strength. Lashley immediately locked in a guillotine choke and basically yanked Cook down to the mat by his head. Once on the canvas, Lashley cinched it in deeper as Cook flopped around”partially in an effort to escape, partially in an involuntary muscle reaction as he sunk into unconsciousness.
After the fight Lashley gave his opponent a hug and flashed his trademark megawatt smile as if to say I told you so. In his postfight interview, however, he did slip in a final verbal jab toward his vanquished opponent, quipping that now Cook can go put the mask back on and have fun with himself’.
Despite the fact that mixed martial arts and professional wrestling have been interwoven from the beginning, the American Top Team trained Lashley has been singled out by less knowledgeable fans for his tenure in the WWE. Against his next opponent, Bob Sapp, hell be facing a foe that has also spent some time in the worked environment of professional wrestling. In addition to his legit fighting experience in K-1 and PRIDE, Sapp has worked for several Japanese pro wrestling organizations and briefly held the prestigious IWGP Championship. The IWGP title has been held by pro wrestling legends such as Keiji The Great Muta Mutoh, Antonio Inoki and Tatsumi Fujinami, as well as reigning UFC heavyweight champion Brock Lesnar.
Even though Sapps days as a serious fighter are long past and he likely spends less time in the gym during a given year than Lashley does in a month, he does present an element of danger. Hes still got decent punching power, and his sheer bulk will be a challenge for Lashley who could give up as much as 100 pounds come fight night. Still, Sapps only victories in several years have been against overmatched and/or outsized opponents. Sapp remains a hugely popular personality in Japan, however, and simply by fighting him Lashleys marketability in the lucrative Japanese fight sport market increases significantly.

Minnesota Completes Late Game Comeback To Beat San Francisco
In a victory for the highlight reels, Brett Favre completed a 32 yard touchdown pass to Greg Lewis with 2 seconds remaining in the game to lift the Minnesota Vikings to a dramatic 27-24 come from behind victory over the San Francisco 49ers. It was the 43rd time in his career that The Gunslinger had pulled out a victory when his team is tied or trailing in the fourth quarter.
While the Vikings may have won the game on the scoreboard, the Niners took the decision where it really matters. San Francisco rewarded NFL betting devotees with their third pointspread cover in three games this season, cashing tickets as +6 road underdogs. It was the Vikings first setback to the spread against two victories this season. The 51 combined points scored went OVER the posted total of 39. It was the 49ers first OVER of the year against two UNDER verdicts, while the Packers went OVER for the second time in three games.
Favre talked about the win after the game:
“It’s hard to even recall all of ‘em. This one was pretty special.
Niners cornerback Nate Clemens said this was a hard setback to take:
“I’ve had some hard losses. This is just another one for the list. We just have to keep chopping away.”
Greg Lewis, who caught the game winning touchdown, said that the entire offense was fired up on the final drive:
“The offensive line was fired up. Adrian was fired up, and the receivers were fired up. And Brett fell right in. He was fired up, too, like: ‘We’re going to get this done And that’s the attitude that we took out there on the field.”
In his postgame comments, Vikings coach Greg Childress praised the poise of his veteran quarterback:
“He’s been in many, many, many, many situations like that so it never hurts you to have a veteran like him going down the field.”
In the Niners locker room, coach Mike Singletary could be overheard giving his team a tough love pep talk:
“You have nothing to be looking at the floor for! You didn’t steal anything! You didn’t do anything wrong! OK? We’re going to get better! We’re going to get there! We will see them again in the playoffs, all right? You hold your head up!”
The 49ers will return home to host the St. Louis Rams next Sunday. Theyll host the Atlanta Falcons the following week before a bye week. Minnesota will host the Green Bay Packers on Monday Night Football next week. Theyll play at St. Louis the following weekend before returning home to host the Baltimore Ravens on 10/18.
