Buying Cricket Sets
There are plenty of us who still look back fondly on the thought of receiving our first cricket set. It seems that few things can compete with the excitement of batting and bowling. Since cricket is still one of the most popular sports around, it’s no surprise that so many people still like to buy new cricket sets every year.
If you’ve looked to buy such a set then you’ll know that there are a number of options available to you. It’s important that you choose something that will be right for your abilities, as well as for your budget. The real trick is to buy a set that has everything that you want and that’s also available at a price that you’re willing to pay. So what should you look for in a set?
A lot of people buy new sets for children and it’s vital that the equipment should be of the correct size. Kids won’t get the most out of the game if they use adult kid. They’re likely to find it extremely frustrating and may well get injured if playing with a heavy bat and hard ball. It’s much more sensible to look for lighter options, allowing them to enjoy the game without fear of injury.
Generally speaking, adults will want a full-size set, including a bat, ball, stumps and bails. It may come as a surprise to see that bats come in different sizes and weights. You may prefer a heavier bat if you’re a big hitter but you need to find a bat that you’ll be happy with. It’s always worth holding the bat before buying to make sure that it feels nice and solid. You won’t want the bat to fall apart while you’re batting.
Those who are especially serious about cricket will probably want a set that includes almost everything. The essentials will include a bat, ball, stumps and bails. It’s important that you remember pads too, particularly if you’ll be playing competitive matches. Some people forget to buy good quality cricket gloves, but you should remember that these will be critical to keeping your hands protected and to allowing your to play freely.
